The pupils of 7 Baltic settled into life at Furrowfield School quickly.
They adapted well to the change in routine from their time in primary school, responding well to the greater responsibility of moving around classrooms throughout the day and to the challenge of working with lots of different teachers. As well as studying new subjects such as outdoor education, D&T and food technology.
In tutor time, the group enjoy listening to Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone our ‘class book’.
They keep up with events in the wider world by watching the news and use this to consider their place in the local, national and global community, being mindful of the effect that the wider world has on them, as well as the impact of their words and actions on others.
7 Baltic enjoy ‘friends’ time, using both paired and whole class structured game play to develop communication and social skills within the group. This helps with cooperation when the group are challenged with problems to solve and targets to set, as a group.
We are looking forward to the challenges that the rest of the school year will bring for us.
